This morning as I read Psalm 69 I am reminded of how God knows everything about me. I can’t hide from Him or keep anything secret. He knows my coming and my going. Realizing this has made me reflect on my life and how I have lived, sometimes apart from God with my sin and sometimes with God as I found myself in the valley. But true worship is not something that only takes place on the mountain top. Sometimes we need to worship in the valleys. For to seek God is to seek Him in every situation, to see Him in all creation, and to listen for Him in the gentle breezes. Too often we only seek after Him when we find ourselves struggling. However, God does not want to have a part-time role in our lives. He wants to be fully present in our lives. He wants to have a personal, authentic relationship with each of us. So in the Psalm, we recognize David’s prayer as our prayer. He is never far from us. He is always within praying distance. The question for us is do we seek Him in all circumstances.
